Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser told residents on Monday that the roads are still dangerous and crews are continuing their efforts to move the 24 inches of snow out of the area. Officials said the "cold emergency plan" remains in effect throughout the District and emergency routes, parking restrictions, fines and towing are also in effect. Residents are still being urged to steer clear from roads in order to allow crews to clear the entire city. All of the main roads in the area are now passible and crews are now working to secondary roads. The D.C. government will also start on time Tuesday and public schools in the district will reopen Wednesday.
